Mansi Gohil In ‘Club Desire’ – Roamance, Lies And Theatre!
MUMBAI: Mansi Gohil, a trained classical singer and has done started her carrier as an actor with Balaji Telefilms ‘Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi’.
But then it was Rose Movies ‘India Calling’ on Star One that made her a popular television face. Post ‘India Calling’ Mansi took a two-year sabbatical and then one saw her in Star TV’s ‘Gulaal’.
‘Gulaal’ also did not do much to her carrier but then came Zee TV’s reality show ‘Star Ya Rockstar’ in which Mansi was one of the celebrity contestants. ‘Star Ya Rockstar’ proved to be a huge turning point in Mansi’s life because this show not only changed the course of Mansi’s personal life but all took her carrier to another level.
Not only did Mansi win the converted title of ‘Star Ya Rockstar’, she also found the man of her dreams Parthiv Gohil who is a playback singer by profession. Parthiv’s work as a singer started with the title song and some back vocals for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ but then it was Bhansali’s film ‘Saawariya’ that gave him the opportunity as a full fledged playback singer.
Mansi has also done a film down South titled ‘Leela’ as well as a hind film ‘Yeh Kaisi Life’ which premiered at the IFFI Festival in Goa. Besides being an actress and a singer, Mansi is extremely passionate about photography, traveling, as well as writing.
Mansi currently has her own blog in which she writes about various topics from her travel and poems to the insider views of the Indian Television Industry.
Currently Mansi is busy rehearsing for an English play titled ‘Club Desire’. This play stars Mansi and Faisal Rashid as the lead pair and is directed by Sunil Shanbag.
The play opens in Mumbai, on October 15, 2013. The play, based on the popular French Opera ‘Carmen’ and it is an intense drama woven around human emotions — love, passion, possession and jealousy.
